Imran Khan Sister Claims that Former Prime Minister Imran Khan is in good physical health but facing complete social isolation in prison, according to his sister, who met him after several weeks of restricted family access.
Imran Khan, who has been behind bars since August 2023 following his conviction over allegations of unlawfully selling state gifts, continues to insist that the charges are politically motivated. The 73-year-old PTI founder has repeatedly claimed he is being targeted to keep him out of national politics.
His sister, Uzma Khanum, was finally allowed to visit him at Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi, becoming the first family member permitted to meet him in weeks. PTI supporters had gathered outside the prison, voicing concerns about the conditions of his confinement and the ongoing restrictions placed on his relatives.
Speaking to journalists after the monitored meeting, Khanum said that although Imran Khan appeared physically stable, the emotional and psychological toll of isolation was clearly visible.
“He’s fine health-wise,” she said. “But he remains locked indoors almost all the time and is allowed only brief moments outside. He has no interaction with anyone. That level of isolation is extremely difficult.”
She added that the entire meeting took place under tight supervision, though she declined to reveal specific details about the constraints or the prison environment.
Imran Khan, a former world-renowned cricketer before entering politics, has spent more than a year in detention while his party continues to demand fair treatment and transparent access for his family and legal team.

Uzma Khanum emphasised that while her brother is mentally resilient, the prolonged isolation could have long-term effects. She expressed hope that authorities would allow more humane conditions, especially considering Khan’s age and health history.
Human rights groups have also taken note, urging Pakistani authorities to ensure that the former prime minister’s basic rights are upheld, regardless of the political climate. The situation continues to attract global attention as debates grow over accountability, justice, and the political landscape of Pakistan.
